Besides Russian, Walter is also has proficient in Japanese and (sadly!) speaks just a little Spanish!  In his meager spare time he enjoys playing the banjo and almost any other instrument he can get his hands on.  All six of the kids are also alumni of Coronado High School in El Paso.

In addition to caring for his family with the help of his loving wife, Dr. Mitchell enjoys hanging out with his family, mountain climbing, camping, playing the drums, skiing, hunting, rafting, and watching UTEP sports.  He is currently enjoying spending time with his grandchildren.
